Importance of Small business software

Software development organizations implement process methodologies to ease the process of development. Sometimes, contractors may require methodologies employed, an example is the U.S.defense industry, which requires a rating based on process models to obtain contracts. The international standard for describing the method of selecting, implementing and monitoring the life cycle for software is ISO/IEC 12207.

Importance of Small business software

Pre-packaged software is not designed to meet the unique needs of every small business.

It will be create in such a way which saves our time and efforts.

Benefits at a glance
  • Streamlined data sharing
  • Software integration
  • Improved communication
  • Customization and Integration of popular software – SharePoint and Salesforce.com
  • Improved time and resource management – maximizing time and resources, thereby improving efficiency.
…and improved efficiency equals an increase in profit potential.

An excellent new tool for creating multimedia timelines for your class

HSTRY is a very good web tool for creating multimedia timelines in class. The process is very simple and easy. Just sign up either as a teacher or a student, choose the timeline you want to work on and start adding your events. You can add images, videos, and audio. The great thing about HSTRY is that it allows teachers to create a classroom and invite students to join it. Within this classroom, teachers will be able to share timelines with their students and view the ones they create. Teachers can also make their timelines interactive by adding questions for students to answer.

The Mysteries INDIA "Few Unsolved Greatest Mysteries"

There are many things which science also can never explain. A lot of things happen in India some are explained but some you want to know about more !!!

1. What if you found hundred of human skeletons  in a lake.
Human Skeletons in Roopkund Lake 300x210 7 Greatest Unsolved Mysteries of India
Roopkund (locally known as Mystery Lake) is a high altitude glacial lake in Uttarakhand state of India, lies in the lap of Trishul massif. The location is uninhabited and is located in Himalaya at an altitude of about 5,029 metres (16,499 feet). This 2 meter shallow lake got attention due to hundreds of human skeletons found at the edge of the lake. There are many theories and opinions, from purely spiritual to purely scientific ones, which explain the existence of these skeletons, which date back to 9th century CE.  Radiocarbon dating of the bones at Oxford University’s Radiocarbon Accelerator Unit determined the time period to be AD 850 ±30 years. But nothing is for sure.

2. Shanti Devi
reincarnation.devi2 7 Greatest Unsolved Mysteries of India
In 1930s, at 4 years of age, Shanti Devi from Delhi, India, told her parents that she had once lived in a place called Mathura and that she had been a mother of three, who died in childbirth, and that her previous name was Ludgi. Because the girl persistence with the story, her parents investigated. It turned out in Mathura a woman named Ludgi had recently died. They took Shanti to the village where she began to speak the local dialect and recognized her previous-life husband and children. The case was brought to the attention of Mahatma Gandhi who set up a commission to investigate and a report was published in 1936. She gave 24 accurate statements matching confirmed facts about Ludgi’s life.

  1. Prahlad Jani
skepti4 7 Greatest Unsolved Mysteries of India
Prahlad Jani aka Mataji is an Indian sadhu who claims to lived without food and water since 1940, according to him Goddess Amba sustains him. Till now there have been two observation studies conducted on him, the recent one in 2010. In 2010 he was under video surveillance 24X7 for 15 days, about 35 scientist monitored his heath through 15 days, Yet they didn’t find any evidence that Jani ate or drank anything during the 15-day ordeal. Till the end investigators did not find any adverse effects in his body from hunger or dehydration. One possible explanation given was that yoga exercises may have altered Jani’s body to undergo a biological transformation. According to Daily Mail reports, doctors said that after fasting for two weeks, Jani was healthier than the average 40-year-old.

Big Data - Zettabyte or Brontobyte?

If we talk about the early days(the 80's or the 70's) the storage space was measured in kilobytes or megabytes. The first commercially available hard disk drives made to fit popular home PCs were 5MB in size.
These days, a modern smartphone is likely to hold 32 or 64GB of data – that’s around 12,800 times the capacity of those early hard disk drives.

Now in the age of terabyte, we are heading into the age of petabyte or exobyte.
A petabyte (pb) is (usually*) 1,000 terabytes.

Taking into account the speed at which we moved from using kilobytes, to megabytes, to gigabytes, as our standard unit of measurement of personal storage capacity, we could expect to have a petabyte of storage in our homes within perhaps 10 to 20 years.

Stress......gives something and takes too.....

All work can be difficult. And challenges in general can push us. This is natural and should be expected. Some stress is even good for us and pushes us to achieve more than we thought was possible. But the stress I’m talking about is different. It drags us low and ruins us.
Stress is the body's reaction to harmful situations — whether they’re real or perceived.

Stress prepares your body for a fight-or-flight response — your blood pressure rises and muscles tighten. But studies show an abundance of chronic stress can lead to increased rates of heart attack, hypertension and other disorders, and to health-related absenteeism at work.
I have been thinking a lot about this lately. Our business at Aha! (visual product roadmap software for product managers) is growing really fast and the team is stretching to keep up with the demand. As the CEO, I want the highest performance from every person, but I also want everyone to be happy.
I have come to the conclusion that there is a difference between workplace stress and punch-in-the-gut misery. So, have you thought about whether your pain is coming from being strained or broken? Do you know what differentiates a temporary frustration from long-term disdain?
The one sign that you hate your job is that it causes you physical pain.

Some Aspects of modern technology

Pharmaceutically-enhanced 21st century is doing something to our brains, we could be sleepwalking towards a future in which neuro-chip technology blurs the line between living and non-living machines, and between our bodies and the outside world.
Already, an electronic chip is being developed that could allow a paralysed patient to move a robotic limb just by thinking about it.

Of course, there are benefits from technical progress - but there are great dangers as well, and I believe that we are seeing some of those today.

A short note on planning of Responsive websites

What are the needs, wants and expectations of your design strategy? Website development company should design webpages which are not purely responsive, but sustainable, globally accessible, and, well, responsible.
In simple terms, responsive web design is a method of delivering the same website over different screen sizes.
Design Process In the Responsive Age
The issues caused when trying to force new results from an old process are significant yet, strangely enough, not immediately obvious. We’ve all just gotten used to them, like the annoying quirk we didn’t realize we had, until someone points it out. And from that point forward, it drives you crazy. For example, when we create a desktop-sized, fixed-width site layout in Photoshop and hand it to a developer to interpret into HTML/CSS, we are asking the developer to make a lot of design decisions—possibly without even realizing it.

Cloud computing: Working step 1

In a cloud computing system, there's a significant workload shift. Local computers no longer have to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to running applications. The network of computers that make up the cloud handles them instead. Hardware and software demands on the user's side decrease. The only thing the user's computer needs to be able to run is the cloud computing system's interface software, which can be as simple as a Web browser, and the cloud's network takes care of the rest.

Chepter 2: Cloud computing and Grid computing

What is cloud computingCloud computing is the next stage in evolution of the Internet. Cloud computing provides the means through which everything from computing power can be delivered to you as a service wherever and whenever you need.

Those of you who have been in IT for one decade or two, would remember that the first type of client-server application that was  popular is the mainframe and terminal application. At that time, storage and CPU was very expensive

In the early 1990s, the budding Internet finally had enough computers attached to it that academics began thinking seriously about how to connect those machines together to create massive, shared pools of storage and compute power that would be much larger than what any one institution could afford to build. From there "the grid" began to take shape.
cloud computing

The difference between grid computing and cloud computing is hard to grasp because they are not always mutually exclusive. In fact, they are both used to economize computing by maximising existing resources.

However, the difference between the two lies in the way the tasks are computed in each respective environment. In a computational grid, one large job is divided into many small portions and executed on multiple machines. This characteristic is fundamental to a grid; not so in a cloud.

Cloud computing chapter 1

Some more from history of Cloud computing
One of the first milestones in cloud computing history was the arrival of Salesforce.com in 1999, which pioneered the concept of delivering enterprise applications via a simple website. The services firm paved the way for both specialist and mainstream software firms to deliver applications over the internet.
The next development was Amazon Web Services in 2002, which provided a suite of cloud-based services including storage, computation and even human intelligence through the Amazon Mechanical Turk.

Cloud Computing

History :

The origin of the term cloud computing is unclear. The expression cloud is commonly used in science to describe a large agglomeration of objects that visually appear from a distance as a cloud and describes any set of things whose details are not inspected further in a given context.

STATEMENT :

“Cloud was an easy way to multiply our resources,” says Slominis, vice president of management information systems at the Wayne State University Physician Group in Detroit.

His organization started moving applications to the cloud several years ago to save money, increase agility and improve flexibility while reducing the maintenance work his team had to handle.
